How much will I pay for damage on a 2008 Nissan 350z?

2008 nissan

I got into a parking lot collision today.

The car I hit was a 2008 Nissan 350z. The door was banged up pretty good, and doesn’t quite close properly.

The body of the car has no damage.

I’ll probably be paying the owner cash for the damage. How much should I expect to pay if they need to replace the whole door? How much should I expect to pay if they can pop out the dents, repaint and fix the hinges?

Thanks!

Probably at least $2,000. (But it’s really hard to guess without seeing the damage.)

Body shops will do free estimates… Have the person get a few estimates before you decide to pay cash.

You should probably claim it on your insurance. It’ll definitely be cheaper (at least initially).

Turn it over to your insurance. It will be higher than you think. I had a lady back into my truck just behind the front tire. Put a dent in it the size of a Soft ball. and crushed into the door. Had to fix dent and paint fender and door . It was $1500.00. So you may be looking at that or more being its a new car…………md

You may think you have a say in this repair but you do not. The owner of the car can take it where he wants. A one year old Z car door could end up costing $2,000 before it is all said and done. A used door may only cost $700. Replacing the hindges and straightening the A post where the hindge mounts.
